This client system was built for use in the biotechnology industry. Our customer receives online orders from individuals who require to identify relationships. For examples paternity testing, grandmother testing and other DNA tests. Originally orders were received by email and then worked through a manual process. High overhead and human errors gave no option to our client to look at other means. Our expertise into information technology helped the client to identify new processes for improvement. Over a series of meetings, a starting point has been identified to be the most beneficial sector to start. This process continued to be refined over months. Nowadays an order comes in the system and it worked by different persons and the business does know what status is the order at ease. It would have not been possible without the client willing to change. While a change in mentality is always difficult, if it is in the right direction it will just help the business to increase productivity.

Client wanted to streamline his process from when an order comes at office to when the delivery and payment happens. The discussion focus was how to improve the process to improve efficiency and eliminate manual processes. During identification of the process, it was found that there was idle time by some of the employees. As such the system design took care of these. With the help of the software there is now an efficient process where sales man takes orders, the data is sent immediately to the offices. At this point, the order will be processed and sent to the stores where the employees will start preparing the delivery items of the following day. This new process has increased efficiency and has given the opportunity to staff to leave on time as the orders were ready before the sales man gets back to the office! Further the system is enhanced to take care of invoicing and reporting as per client requirement.

Room Monitor Collaboration


Our team has collaborated with third parties within the company that engaged us, to create a product not only for process improvement, but also to give the extra niche required for the product. People within the same company sometimes are not able to see improvements and this helped to create a great workforce from expertise outside the company that engaged us. With synergy between different teams from diverse environment it helps to improve a product. Our customer has created an electronic device to be used through hotel rooms for room environment monitoring. The use of the device is to help reduce electricity costs and make hotel eco-friendlier. The system developed is to read data from devices installed in the hotel rooms. This data is then used to calculate energy consumption and how to improve efficiency. Further it gives visibility on graphs to hotel managers to understand consumption.
